• Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
• Always power down your device prior to working on it
• Track your screws, they are different lengths: two 6.8mm P2 pentalobe screws at the bottom, one 0.8mm Y000 on the display connector bracket, one 1.0mm Y000 on the front sensor connector bracket, and two 1.4mm Y000 on the front sensor bracket. Use a screw mat to keep them in place
• Remove the two pentalobe screws beside the Lightning port, warm the bottom edge and lift the screen from the front with a suction cup (not through the back glass). Slide picks under the plastic bezel, no more than 3mm deep (2mm on the left edge, where the display cables run). The screen opens like a book from the right side, hinged on the left, with two clips along the top edge
• On the iPhone 14 Plus the battery connector sits under the back glass, so it is not disconnected for a screen swap - keep the phone powered off and use only plastic tools near the connectors. Disconnect the display cable first, then the front sensor cable, each under a small bracket, and make sure both brackets latch back on reassembly
• Carefully transfer the front sensor assembly (proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, flood illuminator and microphone) from your old screen - the earpiece stays in the phone. Warm the top edge and use a spudger to gently pry underneath the flex cable to loosen the glue. If the flex cable breaks, you will lose Face ID features. Watch the video above before attempting removal
• When fitting the new screen, hook the clips along the top edge in first, then press the rest of the screen down
• Test touch, display, earpiece, proximity and Face ID before sealing the phone, and don't peel off the protective film or any stickers until it's all working
• Opening your iPhone 14 Plus breaks its factory water-resistance seal. Clean off the old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and fit the new screen gasket adhesive included in the box when you reassemble it.
• Once the repair is finished, turn True Tone on in Settings > Display & Brightness (iOS 18 or later)
