Remember
After completing your repair, calibrate your newly installed battery by charging it to 100% and then charging for a further two hours. Use your phone until it shuts off due to low battery, and finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100% again

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% and power the phone off before you start. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire if it's punctured or damaged
- Warm each edge of the glass back with the iOpener in short bursts, as too much heat can damage the battery and screen. Lift the bottom edge with a suction cup and work an opening pick around, no more than 5mm deep on the left edge and 4mm along the top by the cameras. The glass is thin at the curved corners, so go slowly there
- Track your screws on a magnetic mat or tape them to a drawing of your phone, so each one goes back in the right place
- Unplug the battery as soon as you can reach it, before you remove anything else. Keep metal tools away from the battery, and never bend, crush or puncture it.
- Remove the NFC antenna, charging coil and loudspeaker together, levering on the frame and never against the battery. A display cable runs under the right side of the coil, so lift it gently. Then unplug the battery
- The battery is strongly glued. Drip a few drops of isopropyl alcohol under the left edge, tilt the phone for a minute, then lift slowly with a suction cup and a plastic card. Too much alcohol can damage the screen
- Clean off any old adhesive and fit the new battery adhesive from the box. Press the battery connector down until it clicks, then check the phone powers on and charges before you close it up
- Clean off the old back cover adhesive and fit the new adhesive before you close it up
Caution
If the new battery or the battery in your device is swollen or damaged during repair, take the proper precautions
Note
You cannot dispose of old batteries in your general waste. Find recycling e-waste centres online or take to your local refuse station.
