I expected the device to clasp onto the phone and have some sort of release switch. However it is gravity only which pulls the phone down and the clasps together, so the device opens and drops the phone out if you try landscape orientation. Probably ok if you’re parked up but definitely wouldn’t cope with corners. Works fine portrait only and is fast to place and retrieve the phone, great suction cup and is secure
