This MacBook Air 13" (2010-2017) replacement battery is what you need to bring your dead MacBook Air to life!
Battery degradation is an inevitable part of your MacBook Air's lifespan. If your laptop won't turn on, turns off suddenly, has a "service battery" warning, or simply won't hold a charge, this replacement battery may be what you need to fix it.
One A1496 battery fits every 13-inch MacBook Air from Late 2010 to 2017: the A1369 (Late 2010 and Mid 2011) and the A1466 (Mid 2012, Mid 2013, Early 2014, Early 2015 and 2017). It replaces battery models A1377, A1405 and A1496. The battery is held in by five T5 Torx screws with no adhesive, so once the bottom case is off the old battery lifts straight out.
Don't be let down by poor quality cheap batteries. Our high quality aftermarket battery is built with a ternary battery cell, safety chipsets and high grade cabling to give you years of trouble free charging.

Installation Help

iFixit MacBook Air 13-Inch Battery Replacement Guide
Remember
After completing your repair, calibrate your newly installed battery by charging it to 100% and then charging for a further two hours. Use your MacBook until it shuts off due to low battery, and finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100% again
Here are some tools you may need to help you complete the repair.
- Mechanic AK-15 King ESD Anti-Static Stainless Steel Red Curved Tweezers
- Nylon Antistatic Spudger Pry Tool
- iGadget Universal Magnetic Work Project Mat with Marker (30cm x 25cm)
Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire or explode if punctured or damaged
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- The P5 pentalobe and T5 Torx screwdrivers you need are included in the box with this battery.
- Track your screws on a screw mat or tape them to a drawing of your laptop. Bottom case: ten P5 screws, the two longer ones go in the middle holes along the hinge edge. Battery: five T5 screws (three long, two short) - put each back in its own hole
- There is no adhesive on the bottom case or the battery. Once the screws are out, the bottom case lifts off by hand, so no prying or heat is needed.
- Before any component removal, unplug the battery by pulling its clear tab parallel to the logic board, towards the front edge. Do not lift the connector straight up, or you can damage the socket.
- Do not squeeze, bend or puncture the exposed cells when lifting the old battery out or fitting the new one.
- If your newly installed battery is draining fast or shutting off randomly, first try the battery calibration steps found here. If that doesn't resolve it, try an SMC reset
Caution
If the new battery or the battery in your device is swollen or damaged during repair, take the proper precautions
Note
You cannot dispose of old batteries in your general waste. Find recycling e-waste centres online or take to your local refuse station.
