Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Track your screws on a screw mat or tape them to a drawing of your phone. The iPhone 11 has four screw lengths: two 6.7mm pentalobe screws, 1.1mm and 1.3mm Y000 screws, and 1.6mm Phillips screws on the earpiece bracket. Keep each set separate
- Heat the bottom edge and insert picks no more than 3mm deep so you do not damage the LCD backlight, avoiding the right-hand edge where the display cables run. Slide the screen towards the Lightning port to free the top clips, then open it to the right like a book
- Always unplug the battery before you remove any other parts. Keep metal tools away from the battery, and never bend, crush or puncture it.
- Carefully transfer the earpiece and sensor flex cable from your old screen - use a spudger to gently pry underneath the flex cable to loosen the glue. If the flex cable breaks, you will lose Face ID features. Watch the video above before attempting removal
- The steel LCD shield plate is already fitted to this screen, so you do not need to move the plate from your old screen
- Test the display, touch, Face ID and the proximity sensor (during a call) before sealing the phone, and don't peel off the protective film or any stickers until it's all working
- Fit the new screen adhesive from the box. The iPhone 11 is water resistant from the factory, but water resistance cannot be guaranteed once the phone has been opened
- Once the repair is finished, turn True Tone on in Settings > Display & Brightness (iOS 18 or later)
