Product Details
Is the trackpad on your 15" Retina MacBook Pro not clicking, not responding or not working at all? The trackpad flex cable joins the trackpad to the logic board, and a worn or torn cable stops it working. A new trackpad cable is a cheap part to try before a whole trackpad.
This cable fits the Mid 2012 and Early 2013 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro A1398. For Late 2013 and Mid 2014, get the Late 2013 to Mid 2014 cable, and for Mid 2015 the Mid 2015 cable. Need the trackpad too? We stock the A1398 2012 to 2014 trackpad.
Part Includes:
- 1x Trackpad flex cable
- 12 Month Warranty
Please Note
Does NOT fit the Late 2013, Mid 2014 or Mid 2015 A1398, which use different cables. Check the year in About This Mac.
Please Note
This is the cable only. The trackpad and its screws are not included.
Please Note
Advanced repair: the trackpad connector sits under the glued-in battery, so the battery has to come out to reach it.

- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Always unplug the battery before you remove any other parts, and keep metal tools away from the battery. Never bend, crush or puncture it
- The bottom case screws are P5. Track your screws on a magnetic work mat or tape them to a drawing of your laptop
- The battery is glued to the top case. Soften the adhesive with an iOpener and slide a plastic card under the cells slowly. Never use metal tools near the cells
- Pop the cable off the logic board with a spudger, lifting the connector, never the socket
- Flip up the small locking flap on each ZIF connector with a spudger or tweezers before sliding the cable out, and close it again once the new cable is in
- The battery connector and battery board screws are T5. Fit new battery adhesive when you refit the battery
