Product Details

Has the trackpad on your 12" MacBook stopped clicking or responding, or have the keyboard and trackpad stopped working together? The IPD (input device) flex cable connects the Force Touch trackpad and keyboard to the logic board.

This cable fits the 12-inch Retina MacBook A1534 from Early 2016 and 2017. For an Early 2015 12" MacBook get the Early 2015 A1534 IPD flex cable. Need the trackpad too? We stock the 2016 to 2017 A1534 trackpad.

Part Includes:

  • 12 Month Warranty

Please Note

Does NOT fit the Early 2015 A1534, which uses a different cable. Check the year in About This Mac.

Please Note

This is the cable only. The trackpad and its screws are not included.

helpful tips

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email

  • 2017 models: Turn off Auto Boot first so the MacBook doesn't switch on when you open it: run sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00 in Terminal, and sudo nvram AutoBoot=%03 to turn it back on after the repair
  • Always power down your device prior to working on it
  • The 12" has a battery disconnect button under the lower case: press and hold it with a spudger as the guide shows, then remove the T5 battery connector screw. Keep metal tools away from the battery
  • The bottom case screws are P5. Track your screws on a magnetic work mat or tape them to a drawing of your laptop, as the lower case screws are tiny
  • Flip up the small locking flap on each ZIF connector with a spudger or tweezers before sliding the cable out, and close it again once the new cable is in
  • The cable is thin and folds over itself. Lay the new one in the same folds as the old one before you close the case
