• Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
• Always power down your device prior to working on it
• Track your screws, they are many different lengths: two 6.8mm P2 pentalobe screws at the bottom edge, one 1.2mm Y000 screw on the battery and display connector cover, a Phillips and two Y000 screws on the front sensor cover, then small Phillips and standoff screws inside. Draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
• Remove the two pentalobe screws beside the Lightning port, warm the bottom edge and lift the screen with a suction cup. Slide an opening pick under the plastic bezel no more than 3mm deep (2mm on the left edge, where the display cables run). The screen opens like a book from the right side, so don't strain the cables
• Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal. On the iPhone 13 Mini the battery and display connectors sit under one small cover held by a single Y000 screw: disconnect the battery first and reconnect it last
• The charging port flex sits deep in the bottom of the phone and several parts come out before you can reach it. Follow the video above step by step and take a photo at each stage so you know where every cable and screw goes back
• The connector to the logic board can be tricky to align correctly so it fits into place. We recommend taking a pencil and tracing the original charging port so you know exactly where it gets positioned and lining the new charger port within the pencil lines
• Before closing the phone, test that it charges, connects to a computer and that the microphone works (record a voice memo)
• Opening your iPhone 13 Mini breaks its factory water-resistance seal. Clean off the old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol and fit a new screen adhesive seal when you reassemble it
