This MacBook Pro 14" (2021-2023) replacement battery is what you need to bring your dead MacBook Pro back to life!
Battery degradation is an inevitable part of your MacBook Pro's lifespan. If your laptop won't turn on, turns off suddenly, shows "Service Recommended" in Battery settings, or simply won't hold a charge, this replacement battery may be what you need to fix it.
It suits the 14-inch MacBook Pro A2442 with M1 Pro or M1 Max (2021), the A2779 with M2 Pro or M2 Max (2023) and the A2918 with the base M3 chip (Late 2023). It replaces battery model A2519.
Don't be let down by poor quality cheap batteries. Our high quality aftermarket battery is built with a ternary battery cell, safety chipsets and high grade cabling to give you years of trouble free charging.
The battery comes as one pack of cells with its control board attached. It is held by stretch-release adhesive strips and the trackpad has to come out first. Watch the video and follow the step by step guides in Installation Help before you start.
Part Includes:
- Ternary Battery Cell
- Safety chipsets and PCB board
- High Grade cabling and connectors
- 12 Month Warranty
Please Note
Does NOT fit the 14" M3 Pro or M3 Max (A2992), M4 models or any 16" MacBook Pro. Check the A-number on the bottom case for your model.
Please Note
Fits A2918 (M3, Late 2023), A2779 (M2 Pro/Max, 2023) and A2442 (M1 Pro/Max, 2021). The M3 A2918 has two Thunderbolt ports.
Please Note
High quality aftermarket battery, not an official Apple part.
Please Note
Isopropyl alcohol is not included in the box. You'll need some to loosen the old battery adhesive.

Remember
After completing your repair, calibrate your newly installed battery by charging it to 100% and then charging for a further two hours. Use your MacBook until it shuts off due to low battery, and finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100% again
Here are some tools you may need to help you complete the repair.
- Mechanic AK-15 King ESD Anti-Static Stainless Steel Red Curved Tweezers
- 5x iGadget Plastic Flexible Opening Cards
- iGadget Plastic Alcohol 200mL Bottle with Pump Top
- iGadget Universal Magnetic Work Project Mat with Marker (30cm x 25cm)
Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire or explode if punctured or damaged
- These MacBook Pros can power on by themselves when the lid opens or a charger is connected. On macOS Sequoia or later, run sudo nvram BootPreference=%00 in Terminal before you start. Power down, and on older macOS keep the lid closed until the battery is disconnected
- The P5 pentalobe, T3 and T5 Torx screwdrivers you need are included in the box. The 2023 models use Torx Plus screws, which standard Torx drivers turn with firm downward pressure
- Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. You can draw a picture of your laptop and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
- The bottom case is held by eight P5 pentalobe screws (four long ones along the hinge edge, four short ones at the front), hidden side clips and sliding clips along the back. Lift the front with a suction cup, release the side clips with a pick, then slide the case towards the front. Mind the sharp edges
- Unplug the battery before any component removal: peel the tape, flip up the ZIF flap and slide the data cable out, then remove the T5 screw on the battery power connector and lift it no more than 45 degrees, with a card under it so it can't touch its socket
- The trackpad has to come out (two T3 bracket screws, then ten T5 screws). Its cable is lightly stuck down, so peel it off gently. Keep the six small washers from the screw posts
- Remove the T5 screw holding the battery control board
- Pull the 14 stretch-release strips slowly and low (eight at the outer cells, six through the trackpad opening). If a strip breaks, add a few drops of isopropyl alcohol, wait a minute or two and lift with a plastic card. Keep alcohol away from the speakers
- Never pry against a cell with metal tools, and never bend, squeeze or puncture the cells when removing the old battery or fitting the new one
- Clean off the old adhesive and test-fit the new battery before peeling the liners. Press connectors back on at each side, not in the middle, to avoid bending pins
- After the repair, undo the boot setting with sudo nvram -d BootPreference. If it won't power on, connect the charger first
- If your newly installed battery is draining fast or shutting off randomly, first try the battery calibration steps found here. Apple silicon Macs have no SMC reset - shut down, wait 30 seconds and restart
Caution
If the new battery or the battery in your device is swollen or damaged during repair, take the proper precautions
Note
You cannot dispose of old batteries in your general waste. Find recycling e-waste centres online or take to your local refuse station.
