Remember
After completing your repair, calibrate your newly installed battery by charging it to 100% and then charging for a further two hours. Use your phone until it shuts off due to low battery, and finally, charge it uninterrupted to 100% again

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% and power the phone off before you start. A charged lithium-ion battery can catch fire if it's punctured or damaged
- Warm each edge of the plastic back cover with the iOpener in short bursts, as too much heat warps it. Lift it with a suction cup and work an opening pick around the edge
- Track your screws on a magnetic mat or tape them to a drawing of your phone, so each one goes back in the right place
- Unplug the battery as soon as you can reach it, before you remove anything else. Keep metal tools away from the battery, and never bend, crush or puncture it.
- Remove the screws on the board cover and loudspeaker. On the S20 FE the cover, wireless charging coil and loudspeaker come out as one piece; the A52 models have no coil. Unplug the battery from the bottom of the board
- Warm the screen side for about two minutes to soften the battery glue, then lift the battery slowly with a suction cup and a plastic card. Use a few drops of isopropyl alcohol only if it won't let go, and never force it
- On the A52 models the main flex connector at the board end comes loose easily. Press it down firmly until it clicks when you put the phone back together
- Clean off any old adhesive and fit the new battery adhesive from the box. Press the battery connector down until it clicks, then check the phone powers on and charges before you close it up
- Clean off the old back cover adhesive and fit the new adhesive before you close it up, then press the back down evenly for a few minutes
Caution
If the new battery or the battery in your device is swollen or damaged during repair, take the proper precautions
Note
You cannot dispose of old batteries in your general waste. Find recycling e-waste centres online or take to your local refuse station.
