• Suction Cup

• Black Spudger
• Fine Tipped Curved Tweezers
• 2mm Tesa Tape 61395 Double Sided Adhesive Tape

• Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
• Always power down your device prior to working on it, and take out the SIM card tray first
• Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
• The plastic back cover is glued on. Warm each edge with the iOpener in short bursts, lift the cover with the suction cup and slice the adhesive with an opening pick. Do not overheat the phone: the screen, the battery and the plastic back are all damaged by heat.
• Only push an opening pick 4 to 5mm past the edge. Any deeper and you can cut the antenna cable, the power button cable or the rear cameras.
• Unplug the fingerprint (power button) cable before you lift off the plastic middle frame. Remove its screws, then unclip the frame all the way around.
• Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal
• The board connects to the main board with a long flex cable. Disconnect it at both ends with a spudger, and press both connectors back down until they click when refitting.
• The screen's flex cable is lightly stuck over the charging port board. Peel it back gently by its edge and do not crease it.
• Reconnect both aerial (coaxial antenna) cables and clip them back into their holders when refitting, or the phone may lose signal after the repair.
• Power on and test charging, the headphone jack and the microphone before you close the phone.
• Fit new adhesive when you close it up: run a strip of 2mm Tesa tape where the old adhesive was so the back cover sits flat.
