- Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- if you are opening an iPad that you are not replacing a screen on, we recommend using a heat mat to assist with safe screen removal
- Use a thin metal tool (such as the iFlex) to start the gap on the iPad, but then switch to a plastic tool (such as the iPlastix) to avoid slicing internal ribbons or damaging the metal frame or plastic bezel
- There is a small gap at the top right of the iPad (about 5cm from the top). That is the best place to start screen removal.
- Be very careful of the antenna and home button ribbon on the right and left hand side of the home button. Do these parts last as you can leverage the screen to assist.
