Cracked glass, a black or flickering display, green or white lines, or a touch screen that has stopped responding on your iPhone 17 Pro Max all mean the screen needs replacing. This iPhone 17 Pro Max screen replacement is a complete 6.9-inch diagnostic Soft OLED screen assembly - display, touch and front glass in one part - so it fixes both the picture and the touch in a single swap. Looking for an iPhone 17 Pro Max LCD? The iPhone 17 Pro Max actually uses an OLED display, and this replacement is OLED to match.
Also available for the iPhone 17 Pro Max: Soft OLED (lower price)
This diagnostic screen pairs a soft OLED panel with the original Apple display chip, moved over from a genuine iPhone 17 Pro Max screen.
- NO UNKNOWN PART MESSAGE - The original Apple display chip is already fitted, so iOS shows Genuine Used instead of an Unknown Part warning, with no soldering or chip transfer.
- TRUE OLED - Real blacks and rich, bright colour from the same display type your iPhone came with. OLED also uses less battery than an LCD.
- SHARP SOFT OLED - 2868 x 1320 at 460 ppi, the same resolution as the original screen.
- 120HZ PROMOTION - Adapts up to 120Hz like the original and drops down when the screen is still, saving battery.
- ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY - The Always-On display works with this screen, so the time, widgets and notifications stay visible on the dimmed Lock Screen.
- TRUE TONE - Works with iOS 18 or later, no transfer machine needed.
- PRECISE FIT - Brackets come pre-installed and the cutouts match the original screen, so every hole lines up and the frame sits flush.
- QUALITY GLASS - Hard-wearing glass with an oleophobic (anti-fingerprint) coating that stands up to daily use.
Part Includes:
- iPhone 17 Pro Max Diagnostic Flexible Soft OLED Screen Assembly (original Apple chip fitted)
- iPhone 17 Pro Max Screen Gasket Adhesive
- 12 Month Warranty
Please Note
Does NOT fit iPhone 16 Pro Max or 17 Pro. Check in Settings, General, About for your model.
Please Note
Important: run Repair Assistant (Settings > General > About) with the front sensor flex unplugged first. Once paired, power down and plug the sensors in.
Please Note
True Tone works on iOS 18 and later. Don't write True Tone data to this screen with a programmer, as it may cause issues.
Please Note
Aftermarket soft OLED panel with the original Apple chip moved over, so it shows as Genuine Used instead of an Unknown Part warning. Not an official Apple product.

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Track your screws on a screw mat or tape them to a drawing of your phone. This repair uses two 7.5mm pentalobe screws, two 1.2mm screws on the connector covers and two 1.0mm Y000 screws on the front sensor bracket - keep them apart so each goes back in the right place
- Remove the two 7.5mm pentalobe screws either side of the USB-C port, then heat each edge to soften the adhesive before you open it
- Slide the pick fully under the plastic bezel, not into the seam between the bezel and the panel, and no deeper than 3mm. Open the bottom, right and top edges first, stopping just past the top-left corner and just before the volume up button - the screen and ambient light sensor cables are on the left. The screen swings open over the left edge like a book
- Always unplug the battery before you remove any other parts. Keep metal tools away from the battery, and never bend, crush or puncture it. Remove the two connector covers (one 1.2mm screw each), then unplug the battery first, before the screen and front sensor connectors. When reassembling, tuck each cover under its lip before fitting the screw
- The front sensors (ambient light sensor and microphone) are not included, so transfer them from your old screen - the earpiece speaker and Face ID camera stay in the phone. Remove the bracket (two 1.0mm Y000 screws), warm the area, pry on the tab under the sensors with a spudger or opening card (not on the sensors themselves - the cable rips easily), press the ambient light sensor and microphone into their recesses on the new screen and re-stick the cable with Tesa tape
- For a clean pairing, run Repair Assistant (Settings > General > About > Parts and Service History) with the front sensor flex unplugged. Once the screen is paired, power down and plug the sensors in
- Test touch, display, proximity (screen turns off during a call) and Face ID before sealing the phone, and don't peel off the protective film or any stickers until it's all working
- Clean off all the old adhesive with isopropyl alcohol, taking care not to bend the grounding clips, and fit the new screen adhesive supplied in the box. Lower the screen in top edge first, check no clips are bent, then press and warm the edges
- Once the repair is finished, turn True Tone on in Settings > Display & Brightness (iOS 18 or later). Don't write True Tone data to this screen with a programmer, as it may cause issues
