Is your iPhone 5 charging port loose, or does it move when you plug the cable in? The dock connector bracket is the small metal plate that helps hold the Lightning charging port in place inside the iPhone 5. If it was bent, lost or left out during an earlier repair, the port can feel loose and charging can cut in and out.
This is the bracket only, not the charging port. It is fitted while the Lightning connector assembly is out of the phone, so if the port itself is faulty, get our iPhone 5 Charging Port Flex Cable and fit both in the same repair.
Part Includes:
- iPhone 5 dock connector bracket
Please Note
Not confirmed to fit iPhone 5s, 5c or SE (2016). Check in Settings, General, About for your model.
Please Note
Bracket only. The Lightning charging port is a separate part: our iPhone 5 Charging Port Flex Cable.
Please Note
This item will usually be new but sometimes we only have as-new used stock.

- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. There are two P2 pentalobe screws beside the Lightning port, then Phillips screws of different lengths inside. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
- Lift the screen from the front with a suction cup placed just above the home button. It is held by clips, not adhesive. Don't swing it open too far, as the display cables are still connected at the top
- Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal. Remove the small metal cover over the battery connector, then lift the connector straight up with a plastic spudger
- The bracket is fitted during the charging port job. Follow the video or the iFixit guide to take out the loudspeaker and the Lightning connector assembly, then fit the new bracket where the old one sat before you put the port screws back in
- Don't lose the small silver washers that sit under the port screws in the rear case, and move the rubber microphone boot across if you are also fitting a new port
- Before closing the phone, check that the cable plugs in firmly without the port moving, that it charges, and that it connects to a computer
