Product Details
Has the USB port on the right side of your MacBook Pro 15" Retina stopped working, does the HDMI port give no picture, or will the SD card slot no longer read cards? All three sit on one small right-hand I/O board (also called the IO board or daughter board), so a new I/O board is usually the repair you need.
This board fits the 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro A1398 from Mid 2015 only. Earlier A1398 models use different boards.
Part Includes:
- 1x Right I/O board with USB 3 port, HDMI port and SD card slot
- 12 Month Warranty
Please Note
Does NOT fit the Mid 2012 to Mid 2014 MacBook Pro 15" A1398, which use different boards. Check About This Mac says Mid 2015.
Please Note
The board only. Reuse your I/O data cable, which is also a Mid 2015-only part.
Please Note
The right fan comes out to reach the board. The battery is only unplugged.

- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- The 10 P5 bottom case screws are two lengths. Track your screws on a magnetic work mat or tape them to a drawing of your laptop, as several screws look alike but are different lengths
- Peel back the sticker and lift the battery connector out of its socket with a spudger. The battery itself stays in
- The three AirPort antenna plugs are fragile. Lift each one straight up by its head, never by the cable
- The I/O cable covers, the right fan and the I/O board are all held by T5 screws. Open the fan ribbon flap before lifting the fan
- Taking out the SSD (one T5 screw) is optional but gives more room around the I/O cable. Seat the cable square with tweezers, as it sits right against the speaker
- Check the old board is printed 820-5482. The Late 2013 and Mid 2014 board (820-3547) is a different part
