• 4mm Tesa Tape 61395 Double Sided Adhesive Tape

• Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
• Always power down your device prior to working on it
• Take the SIM card tray out before you start. The SIM card reader is on the charging port board, so the board can't come out with the tray still in and you can bend the reader pins.
• Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
• The back cover is glued on. Warm one edge at a time with the iOpener, lift it with the suction cup and slide an opening pick around the edge. Work in short bursts, as the screen, battery and plastic back cover are all damaged by heat.
• Only push an opening pick about 5mm past the edge (3mm on the right side). Any deeper and you can cut the interconnect cable or damage the cameras.
• Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal
• The wireless charging and NFC coil and the loudspeaker have to come out to reach the charging port board. Do not tear the coil's cable, and press its connectors back down until they click.
• Disconnect the interconnect and aerial (antenna) cables that run over the board, then remove its three screws and wiggle the USB-C port out of the frame. Reconnect every cable and press each connector down until it clicks when refitting, or the phone may lose signal after the repair.
• Test charging, the SIM card and the microphone before you seal the phone.
• Opening the phone breaks the factory seal. Fit new adhesive when you close it up or the phone will lose its water resistance rating.
