If it feels loose, keeps showing a "Moisture detected" warning when the port is dry, is charging on and off, is having trouble connecting to a computer, not reading your SIM card, callers can't hear you or it is not charging at all, a new charging port board (also called the charging board or sub board) is usually the repair you need.

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Take the SIM card tray out before you start. The SIM card reader is on the charging port board, so the board can't come out with the tray still in and you can bend the reader pins. The eject hole is on the bottom edge next to a microphone hole, so make sure you use the right one.
- Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
- The back glass is glued on. Warm each edge with the iOpener in short bursts, lift it with the suction cup and slice the adhesive with opening picks. Do not overheat the phone, as heat damages the screen and the battery.
- Only push an opening pick a few millimetres past the edge, especially along the top near the rear cameras. Any deeper and you can cut the cables inside the edge or damage the cameras.
- The NFC and wireless charging coil and the loudspeaker have to come out to reach the charging port board. Warm the two coil tabs stuck on the right side and lift them slowly with a plastic spudger, never a metal tool near the battery. Press the coil connector back down until it clicks.
- Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal
- Two cables clip onto the top edge of the charging port board. Unclip them with a spudger and keep them out of the way, and press both connectors back down until they click when refitting, or the phone may lose charging or signal.
- The board is held by three small Phillips screws. Lift it from the top right corner with a spudger until it unclips. When refitting, angle the USB-C port into its opening first, then press the middle of the board down, avoiding the small components on it.
- Power on and test charging, the SIM and the microphone before you seal the back.
- Opening the phone breaks the factory seal. Clean off the old adhesive with alcohol and fit new adhesive when you close it up, or the phone will lose its water resistance rating.
