If it feels loose, keeps showing a "Moisture detected" warning when the port is dry, is charging on and off, is having trouble connecting to a computer, not reading your SIM card, callers can't hear you or it is not charging at all, a new charging port board (also called the charging board or sub board) is usually the repair you need.

Here are some helpful tips to assist you in completing a safe repair on your device. If you are unsure of something or have any questions, please feel free to contact us either by phone (0508 IGADGET) or by email
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair
- Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Take the SIM card tray out before you start. The SIM card reader is on the charging port board, so the board can't come out with the tray still in and you can bend the reader pins.
- Always track your screws to avoid putting back in the wrong place and damaging your device. The screws are Phillips #00, all 3.5mm long. You can draw a picture of your phone and tape the screws to the right places or use a screw mat
- The back glass is glued on. Warm each edge with the iOpener in short bursts, lift it with the suction cup and slice the adhesive with opening picks. Do not overheat the phone, as heat damages the screen and the battery.
- Only push an opening pick 4 to 5mm past the edge. Any deeper and you can cut the antenna cable, the power button cable or the rear cameras. A square of adhesive holds the rear microphone just above the flash, so lift the back gently there.
- The NFC and wireless charging plate and the loudspeaker have to come out together to reach the charging port board (13 screws). Do not tear the plate's cable, press its connector back down until it clicks, and clip the loudspeaker edges in before refitting the screws.
- Make sure you always unplug the battery before attempting any component removal
- The board connects to the main board with two interconnect cables. Unclip both ends with a spudger, and when refitting reconnect every flex and aerial (coaxial antenna) cable you unplugged, pressing each connector down until it clicks, or the phone may lose charging or signal.
- The board is held by 3 screws. Lift it from the top right corner with the spudger angled against the frame, not the battery. When refitting, angle the USB-C port into its opening first, then press the board flat.
- Power on and test charging, the SIM and the microphone before you seal the back.
- Opening the phone breaks the factory seal. Clean off the old adhesive with alcohol and fit new adhesive when you close it up, or the phone will lose its water resistance rating.
