Product Details
Are the USB-C ports on your Touch Bar MacBook Pro loose, only charging at an angle, or not charging at all? The ports sit in pairs on a small USB-C board, so a new USB-C charging port board is usually the repair you need.
This board fits the 13-inch A1706 and 15-inch A1707 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar from 2016 and 2017. Each board carries two USB-C ports, with one board on each side. Got a 2018 or later MacBook Pro? This is the 2018-2022 MacBook Pro USB-C board.
Part Includes:
- 1x USB-C board with two ports, flex cable and connector
- 12 Month Warranty
Please Note
Does NOT fit the 13" A1708 without Touch Bar, whose ports are on the logic board, or the 2018 and later MacBook Pro. Check the A-number on the bottom case for your model.
Please Note
One board carries two USB-C ports and fits either side. Replacing all four ports takes two boards.
Please Note
The USB-C board sits under the logic board, so the logic board has to come out to fit it.

- Run
sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00in Terminal first so the MacBook doesn't switch on when you open it. Turn it back on afterwards withsudo nvram AutoBoot=%03 - Always power down your device prior to working on it
- Drain the battery below 25% before you start on this repair, and unplug the battery before you remove any other parts
- The bottom case comes off with P5 pentalobe screws. Track your screws on a magnetic work mat or tape them to a drawing of your laptop, as several screws look alike but are different lengths
- Expect to take the whole logic board out. It is held by T5 screws, with T3 screws on the cable covers
- Unplug the antenna and display cables gently with a spudger and tweezers, and check every cable is clear before you lift the board
- Each USB-C board is held by two T5 screws. The replacement board comes without the port gaskets, so move the old ones across
- Start the board screws loosely, plug an unpowered USB-C cable into the port to line the board up, then tighten them. A port that sits out of line makes the plug feel stiff or loose
