Apple Chargers Explained

It is frustrating when you can’t find the right chargers you are looking for in your home or office. To relieve the frustration of missing or malfunctioning Apple chargers in NZ, it is a great idea to have a spare or two on hand.

Here is a handy checklist of all the different Apple chargers available in NZ to help you make your shopping list and keep your devices charged and ready.

Apple iPhone Chargers

Check the charging port on your phone to make sure that you select the correct one. Older iPhones will need Apple chargers in NZ with a 30-pin connecter, and newer model phones have a smaller and quicker lightning port for charging.

The other end of the cable that connects to the power adapter, car charger or computer could have the older USB-A connector (the commonly used type like on a flash disc) or the newer and smaller USB-C connector.

Apple MacBook Chargers In NZ

When selecting your replacement Apple MacBook chargers in NZ, be sure to check the specifications for your device to ensure the safe charging of your device. Things to look for include:

  • The wattage rating of the power adapter
  • The USB connector type (A or C)
  • The device connector type like MagSafe, MagSafe 2 or MagSafe 3, L-style connectors or T-style connectors

Apple iPad Chargers

There are only three different connector types for iPads. Older models have a lightning connector, very old models have the 30 pin, and most newer models have a USB-C connection port. The cables and adapters are compatible with many iPhone chargers.

Apple Watch Chargers In NZ

To charge your Series 7 Apple Watch, you will need a magnetic fast charger with a USB-C connection. If you have an earlier model, you will need an Apple Watch magnetic charging dock or a MagSafe Duo charger.

Apple Watch chargers are different from those for other devices and will therefore require their own specific chargers.

Charging Your AirPods

AirPods are charged inside their case. You can charge the case with or without the AirPods inside. Use a USB-C or USB-A to Lightning cable to charge the case. So, the good news is that your iPhone charger cable will generally be compatible with your AirPod case. Remember to put your AirPods into their case to charge them up.
